When studying at Oxford Area School international students will live in accommodation which has been carefully selected and organised by the school. We offer village, farm or lifestyle block homestays. If you want a homestay with a horse then please ask as we have a special horse stay programme.
Our homestay families are committed to providing care and support for international students much as they would expect their own child to be treated while overseas.
We have an Accommodation Coordinator who is responsible for all aspects of accommodation. Someone is available 24/7.
At Oxford Area School we have various opportunities
within our homestays where our International Students can
care for and enjoy being around horses.
Depending on availability we can offer a homestay where
students can participate in equestrian activities and subject toriding ability, can ride the host families horse. If the student hashad previous experience in caring for horses and the host families property is suitable, it may be possible for the student to lease or rent a horse.
There is also an excellent riding school close by, the Kowhai
Residential School of Riding, which offers a range of riding
programmes suitable for any level of ability, from beginner to competition. Kowhai also hold horse treks for students to explore the beautiful local countryside.
