Technology

The school is now cabled extensively with fibre optic cable.  Classrooms, library and the school server are all connected.  All students have access to the internet.  They can undertake searches for information not only in New Zealand but all over the world.

  • The Library is automated including resources listed on a database, CD ROM and the Internet
  • Modern, networked computers are available throughout the school
  • Office and educational software is continuously updated to the latest standard

CANTATECH

The internet is being used to put students "on-line" with other schools and institutions.  Distance Education is delivered and received over the internet.  Oxford is the Lead School for the Cantatech link-up which joins 11 schools via video conferencing and other e-learning networks.  An e-learning Leader works within this cluster promoting new technololgies for learning for students and staff.

OBSERVATORY

We operate a modern observatory on the school proerty holding open evenings, evening classes and hosting visits from other schools to use this facility.  Astronomy is an integrated part of our school Science programmes.
